Sara Barakat (Mrs. Munther Annab), born 1936, of Cairo (husband from Bethlehem) was arrested. Remarks: arrested 1968,1969,1970 for 2 days, 9 days, 2 months plus 14 months suspended and IL 2,750 fine plus interrogation lasting 72 days during which she had to be removed to hospital; organized women's petitions, brought publications over bridge for distribution; one of GUPW founders, active in Inash al-Usra; husband former District officer of Bethlehem.

Evelyne Barge, born 1945, of France, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 14 years. Remarks: importing explosives to blow up hotels.

Solafa Barghouti, born 1946, of Deir Ghassaneh, was arrested in 1967. Remarks: PFLP.

Soraya Barghouti of Deir Ghassaneh was arrested. Remarks: sister of above; arrested for demonstrations.

Somaya Barissi, 21, of Gaza, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP.

Bahija Barmaki of Mazraa (Acre) was arrested in 1977. Remarks: obstructed police who were demolishing a house.

Nadia Basbasso of Gaza was arrested in 1975 and sentenced to 2 months imprisonment.

Hajar Bahbaha of Hebron was arrested in 1975 and sentenced to 6 months.

Fatma Bashir, 17, of Jenin, was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to 4 months plus 8 months suspended. Remarks: member illegal organization.

Ghazala Bashirmadran, 31, of Sakhnin, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Remarks: husband involved with resistance; mother of 4.

Badia Bahsnawi of Nablus was arrested in 1970 and fined IL 230. Remarks: beaten during arrest.

Rawda Basir, 22, of Tayyibe was arrested in 1978 and sentenced to 9 years imprisonment. Remarks: attempted bombing.

Safamana Bastami of Nablus was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment. Remarks: member illegal organization, distributed pamphlets, weapons training.

Suad Battawi, 61, was arrested in 1967 and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment. Remarks: Israeli Arab who left her husband and went to brother in Tulkarm in 1966; arrested after occupation, charged with infiltration; mother of 4.

Aysha Bayourni, 23, of Gaza, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment and 10 months suspended

Sana Baz, 20, of Gaza, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to five months administrative detention plus IL 100,000 bond. Remarks: suspected sabotage; student.

Dunia Bazbazat, 17, of Jerusalem was arrested in 1974. Remarks: demonstration.

Samia Bazi of Khan Yunis was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 3 months administrative detention.

Fatma Bernawi, born 1940, of Jerusalem, arrested in 1970 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh and bomb in cinema; first woman to be arrested; UNRWA nurse working in Qalqilya in 1967 war, saw what happened there; deeply affected by Israeli arrests of wounded in Nablus hospital; father fought with Abdel Qader Husseini in 1948 and was wounded; told interrogators "I did it because you destroyed Qalqilya."

In'arn Bernawi of Jerusalem was arrested in 1967 and sentenced to one year imprisonment. Remarks: Fatma's sister.

Mary BerzikianMargian, 18, of Haifa, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 5 days imprisonment. Remarks: suspicion of involvement in blowing up of Kishon oil pipe.

Naima Beydoun, 21, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh; nurse.

Saida Bilo, of Nablus, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 2 months imprisonment.

Wife of Ahmad Bishar, of Majdal Krum, was arrested in 1969. Remarks: husband killed in explosion of car in Acre: she (pregnant) was arrested for interrogation.

Magdalene Bishtawi of Nablus was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment. Remarks: distributed pamphlets.

Edith Borghalter, 60, of Paris, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. Remarks: brought explosives into Israel.

Marlene Bradly, born 1951, of Morocco, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. Remarks: brought explosives into Israel./ep

Fatma Bsatmassit, born 1935, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 11 years (months?) imprisonment. Lamia Bsiss of Gaza was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 10 months imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP.

Intissar Bsisso, 18, Jerusalem (Ramallah?), was arrested in 1969 and reportedly sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Remarks: contacted resistance.

Nuriya Budistinmudistin of Gaza was arrested in 1973. Najia Buleimi of Gaza was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 7 months imprisonment.

Ilham Dabalan of Jerusalem was arrested in 1976.

Amina Dahbour, 25, of Khan Yunis, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. Remarks: Zurich attack on El Al in which an associate was killed; refugee from Ascalon; teacher.

Jamila Dahdouh, 16, of Gaza, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment. Remarks: fed and sheltered commandos.

Fatma Dakak/Abdel-Daqaq, born 1959, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1979 and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. Remarks: complicity in bomb on bus and knew of her husband's activities; arrested after he was killed by explosion in his home.

Subhiya Dakrik/Duweik/Dukeik, born 1944, of Hebron, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh.

Inaam Dakroub, born 1958, of Gaza, was arrested in 1975 and sentenced to 21 months imprisonment.

Rifka Dalisa, born 1948, of Gaza camp, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 8 (16?) months imprisonment.

Fathiya Daoud, born 1941, of Deir al-Balah, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh, mother of 10.

Mahal Daoud, born 1962, of Jordan was arrested in 1978 and sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.

Salma Dawaria, of Gaza, was arrested in 1978 and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. Remarks: contacts with Egyptian intelligence.

Saada Dawargha, born 195 1, of Sinai, was arrested in 197 1 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment. Remarks: contacts with Egyptian intelligence.

Fathiya Dawlala, of Gaza, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment.

Soraya De'es of Dora was arrested in 1975. Remarks: member banned organization; house demolished.

Khadija Diab, born 1955, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment.

Rabiha Diab, born 1954, of Ramallah, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment with 2 1/2 years suspended. Remarks: contacts with resistance; student.

Mariam Dib, born 1940, of Bethlehem, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to almost one year's administrative detention.

Khadija Dun of Silwan was arrested in 1971. Remarks: helped banned organization.

Hiyam/Jamal Eid of Jenin was arrested in 1977 and given a 3 (4?) years suspended sentence and fined IL 4,000. Remarks: member banned organization; schoolgirl.

Shafiqa Fadlallah of Khan Yunis was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 5 years (months?) imprisonment.

Babette Fajr of Nablus was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment. Remarks: fed a group of commandos; widow with 5 children.

Fatma Fartaji of Gaza was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to two years imprisonment. Remarks: member PLO. Fahima Fattouh, 22, reportedly of Gaza , was arrested in 1972.

Naheda Fayed, 18, was arrested in 1979 and sentenced to 10 months imprisonment plus three years suspended. Remarks: demonstration.

Rahma Fayoumi, 14, of Gaza, was arrested in 1969 and fined IL 1,000. Remarks: schoolgirl demonstration, shouted "Long live Nasser" and threw stones at military vehicle.

Terre Fleener, 23, of the USA, was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to five years imprisonment. Remarks: spying for PLO; released 19 months later at President Carter's request.

Arnna Franji, of Mughazi camp, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to one year in administrative detention.

Aziza Franji, born 1952, of Mughazi camp, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 15 years (months?) imprisonment. Fatma Franji/Murtaja, 17, of Gaza, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to two years imprisonment. Remarks: PLO member.

Yusra Frayhat, born 1961, of Nablus, was arrested in 1978 and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment plus 9 months suspended sentence. Remarks: Opposing the occupation and contacts with illegal organization.

Amna Fuda was arrested in 1972.

Samiha Ghaith of Hebron (Jerusalem?) was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 3 (1 1/2?) years imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP.

Bahiya Ghandour, 26, of Gaza, was released 7/12/72.

Randa Ghanem of Nablus was arrested in 1976. Remarks: schoolgirl.

Suad Ghanem, 22, of Fereidis, was arrested in 1979 and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Remarks: member illegal organization and involved in operations in Nahariya on a bus and others.

Nafissa Ghannam, born 1949, of Gaza camp, was arrested in 1972.

Zainab Ghardawi, born 1954, of Gaza camp, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment.

Kamila Ghazaleh of Jerusalem was arrested in 1969. Remarks: distributed pamphlets, participated in women's sit-in.

Fatma Ghoul, born 1940, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to one year imprisonment.

Karima Ghoul, born 1947, of Gaz camp, was arrested in 1972.

Zainab Ghuneimi, 15, of Gaza. Remarks: several arrests, first in 1969, last in 1975, sentenced to 1 year and shorter periods.

Ibtissam Ghureiba, 21, of Tahoun, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. Remarks: explosives in Jerusalem railway station.

Doana Gurra of Baqaa Gharbiya was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment. Remarks: security reasons.

Zainab Habash of Beit Dajan (Jaffa) was arrested in 1968 and sentenced to4 days plus IL 10,000 bond. Remarks: Fateh and weapons training.

Lamis Habbab, born 1955, of Nablus, was arrested in 1977. Remarks: Fateh; tortured; university student.

Maha Habbab, born 1955, of Ramallah, was arrested in 1975 and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment. Remarks: member banned organization.

Latifa Hadadia, born 1949, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1972.

Fatma Hadib of Silwad was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment. Remarks: joined resistance after brother killed in battle; family house demolished; tortured; later joined Inash al-Usra; rearrested 197 1 with 2 other Sil wad girls on charge of cooperating with illegal organization. Aziza Hafi, born 1954, of Jenin, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 15 months imprisonment. Remarks: father deported.

Mariam Hajaj, born 1938, of Jabaliya camp, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment. Remarks: helped resistance.

Najah Hajayel, born 1954, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to one year imprisonment.

Amal Halabi, of Gaza, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment.

Therese Halsa, 19, of Acre, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Remarks: Black September, hijacked Sabena airline to Lydda; seriously injured when Israelis attacked wearing Red Cross uniforms; nurse.

Fatma Hamad, 19, of Jaffa, was arrested in 1971 and reportedly sentenced to 5 days. Remarks: suspected possession of hand-grenade; Jerusalem Post does not report an arrest, but a girl of the same name was still in prison nearly 2 years later.

Hiyam Harridan, born 1957, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1978 and sentenced to two year imprisonment.

Husseina Harridan, born 1936, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1970.

Marlene Hamshami/Hamadallah/Hamashta/Khams/ Khamsteta of Jerusalem (Gaza?) was arrested in 1974. Remarks: member of network working against occupation; mother of 5.

Arnira Hanna, born 1949, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

Ferial Hanna of Jerusalem was arrested in 1978. Remarks: released in 1979 prisoner exchange; teacher.

Habiba Hassan was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to one year imprisonment.

Hamda Hassan, born 1942, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to one month imprisonment.

Mufida Hassan of Jalazon camp was arrested in 1979. Remarks: suspected involvement in Mahane Yehuda explosion; student; arrested May or June 1979 with 2 other girls; still not sentenced by February 1980.

Sobhiya Hassan was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to one month imprisonment.

Zaghloula/Zakia Hassan, 65, of Nablus, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment plus IL 250 fine. Remarks: did not report Fateh members to authorities and smuggled Jordanian money into Israel.

Farha Hati, 20, of Reir d-Balah, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to one year and three months imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh.

Mariam Hawar, 17, of Gaza, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to one month or fine of IL 200. Remarks: rioting and insulting policeman.

Lutfiya Hawari, born 1944, of al-Bireh. Remarks: arrested 3 times between 1967-69; never charged but detained for 8 months in 1968, released only after pressure from West Bank mayors and UNRWA officials (she was UNRWA teacher and a painter and poet); arrested August 1969, tortured and sentenced in June 1970 to 10 years for attempted murder of collaborators; family home demolished; deported in 1975 in urgent need of hospital treatment for partial paralysis, displaced vertebrae, etc.

Hayat Hawash, 36, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 7 years and fined IL 1,000. Remarks: Fateh; mother of five.

Khadija Helou, 19, ofaHebron, was arrested in 1969. Remarks: possessed weapons.

Khadija Helou, 20, of Gaza, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to4 years imprisonment. Remarks: Fateh and gave Aida Saad grenades.

Ne'mat Helou, born 1952, of Jabaliya camp, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Remarks: threw grenade at jeep; lost right hand and one eye in explosion. Shifa Helou, born 195 1, of Gaza camp, was arrested in 1971.

Margareta Heynsbroek, 27, of Leyden (Holland) was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 3 112 months imprisonment with 26 1/2 months suspended. Remarks: arrested at bridge carrying message in invisible ink from Fateh; university student.

Hala Hijazi of Nablus was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 85 days in administrative detention.

Rasmiya Homs, born 1952, of Gaza, was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

Yusra Homs, born 1952, of Gaza, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to a year's imprisonment.

RabiaHusna was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

Amina Husseini, 53, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 3 days in administrative detention. Remarks: sit-in strike at Holy Sepulchre.

Maliha Husseini, 54, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1968 and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment. Remarks: suspicion of hostile activity against occupation; released 2 weeks later after notables guaranteed her future abstention from politics; husband director of Waqfs under Mandate.

Raeda Husseini of Jerusalem was arrested in 1971.

Remarks: suspicion Mahane Yehuda market explosion; badly tortured; arrested with about 20 others.

Salwa Husseini. 29, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1969. Remarks: sit-in at Holy Sepulchre; rearrested for demonstration for Tamimi's death.

Suad Husseini, 60, of Gaza, was arrested in 1975 (74?). Remarks: Fateh.

Fatma Hussiml'Um Khodr' of the West Bank was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. Najia Huweitat, born 1955, of Gaz, was arrested in 1972.

Mrs. Ahmad Ibrahim of Khirbet Taybeth (Jenin) was arrested in 1970. Remarks: house demolished; husband and son also imprisoned.

Jamila Ibrahim of Ramallah was arrested in 1978 and fined IL 10,000. Remarks: demonstration; student.

Five women, heirs of Mohammed Idris, of Jerusalem, were arrested in 1968 and imprisoned for 24 hours plus a IL 300 bond. Remarks: their house was leased to an Israeli by the Custodian of Absentee property; they refused to evacuate it.

Najwa Ilbadisi of Gaza was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 8 months plus IL 300. Remarks: Fateh, carrying Palestinian flag in demonstration and burning Israeli flag.

Rasmiya Issa, 17 (IS?), of Ballata camp, was arrested in 1977 and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment. Remarks: member illegal organization and resisted soldiers when they arrested her brother.

Samira Izzat, 20. of Jerusalem, was arrested in 1970 and sentenced to 15 months imprisonment with 2 years suspended. Remarks: PFLP and attempted poisoning of collaborators.

Lawaheth Jaabari of Hebron was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. Remarks: recruited and planned military operation; student; her 14 year old sister was sentenced to 2 years for not reporting her to the military authorities.

Bahia Jabara, 29, of Jericho, was arrested in 1974 and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with 1 112 years suspended. Remarks: her husband suspected of operation, she was charged with helping him to escape; mother of four.

Hamida Jaber, horn 1927, of the West Bank, was arrested in 1972 and sentenced to 3 112 years imprisonment. Remarks: helped commandos.

Zainab Kabalan, 15, of Deir al-Balah, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP.

Arefa Kaddum, born 1954, of Gaza, was arrested in 1971.

Shafiqa Kadri of Khan Yunis was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

Nayefa Kahwaji of Haifa was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to 1 1/2 years imprisonment. Remarks: member student union; tortured, wrists broken, moved to hospital, teacher.

Zuheira Kamai, 24, of Jerusalem, was arrested in 197 1 and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP.

Leila Kamel of Nablus was arrested in 1977 and given a three year suspended sentenced and fined IL 1,000. Remarks: schoolgirl.

Fatma Karabsa, born 1953, of Ramallah, was arrested in 1976 and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment. Remarks: resistance organization and contacts with resistance.

Fatoum Karim, 64, of Khan Yunis, was arrested in 1971 and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. Remarks: PFLP,

Leila Khaled, born 1944, of Haifa, was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to one month imprisonment. In 1970 she was arrested and sentenced to 24 days imprisonment. Remarks: first arrest after hijacking TWA to Damascus; second after attempted hijack of El Al, arrested by British and released in exchange for hostages held by PFLP.

Remarks: suspected activity against occupation; released after 2 weeks when several notables guaranteed her future abstention from political activity; her husband Ruhi is the mayor of Arab Jerusalem.

Dr. Hiba Khayat, 28, of Nablus, was arrested in 1968 and given an IL 20,000 bond. Remarks: Fateh and trained girls in weapon practice.

Nadia Khayat, 21, of al-Bireh, was arrested in 1979. Remarks: leader of Fateh cell responsible for 5 operations; teacher; her family's house was sealed.
