Jewish Austria at
the end of the 19th century1: "Jews
control the press, stock markets, and even the subconscious"
In the Austro-Hungarian Empire, only since 1867 were full
civil rights guaranteed to all ethnic groups, including
Jews. Prior to this, Jews did not enjoy civil rights in
full, since there were a number of prohibitions for them and
they did not always have the right to acquire real estate.
A few decades after the lifting of restrictions, the Jews
managed to subdue the entire Austrian economy.
Karl Kraus, a well-known Austrian writer of the time,
referring to the latest research on the psyche by Sigmund
Freud, but before the Jews seized control of the city of
Vienna, wrote at the end of the 19th century:
"Jews control the press, the stock markets, and nowadays
even the subconscious."
In the same period, the first tension began in the relations
between the Germans and the Jews. The situation by 1890 is
described in the book by François Trocas "Jewish Austria"
("L'Austriche Juive"). Soon after, there were even
persecutions.
Below are some excerpts from this book.
Jewish Austria:
It seems inexplicable that incredible ease with which the
Jews made the conquest of the Empire. The first act played
out by the Israelis was an attack through their press on the
Christian Faith, which was ridiculed, as a result of which
the churches were empty, and the priests began to receive
threats and abuse.
Then came the turn of the planned exploitation of the
population, carried out by large Jewish industrialists, who
ripped off this population in all ways.
They mastered all social activities, they amassed their
unimaginable fortunes, using them as a tool for the constant
growth of their power, which was expressed in dominating
public opinion, in occupying ever higher positions and in
control over the “nerve endings” of Power. Insolently, they
flaunted their easy successes and sought to destroy any
potential resistance that might come their way.
All wholesale trade was concentrated in the hands of the
Jews, and only a few small retail shops owned by non-Jews
remained in Vienna, but the Jews also sought to liquidate
them.
In the Austrian lands, the Jews were masters of all
enterprises for the production of consumer goods of prime
necessity, and following their initial success, Vienna was
flooded with Jews from Russia, Romania and Galician Poland;
this flood of Jews penetrated everywhere and flooded
everything with it, bringing with it unfair competition; the
old non-Jewish merchants, artisans and small industrialists
were either reduced to poverty or forced to work for the
Jews for ridiculous wages.
What happened in Vienna happened in other provincial trading
centers, where the Jews, like a cloud of gluttonous
grasshoppers, began their expansion at all levels, in trade,
in industry, in banking, in insurance, in savings banks,
drowning the Austrian state in billions of florins of debt.
Having gained a foothold on this parasitism, the Jews
gradually began to take possession of the Austrian land, the
purchase of which until 1849 was forbidden to them. Now
Baron de Rothschild became the owner of a quarter of all
large estates in Bohemia2:
Rothschild had seven times more land than all the
representatives of the Imperial Family combined, and this is
not to mention the fact that he also owned possessions in
Lower Austria, Moravia, Silesia and Hungary.
The prohibition for Polish Jews in Galicia to purchase land
lasted until 1867. In 1880, there were already 680 large
Jewish landowners and they were the owners of the most
fertile land in the state; that is, they concentrated in
their hands control over agriculture and the lives of
farmers and peasants who worked on the land.
Twelve thousand Austrian farms fell into the hands of Jewish
usurers, who reduced the role of the old owners to that of
penny servants.
After they had taken possession of land and real estate, the
Jews also climbed to the highest government offices, entered
Parliament, passing packages of laws that benefited them.
In art, music, theater, they have reached completely
dominant positions. They then monopolized the press and
criticism so that today no one can succeed and gain public
attention without getting their valuable approval.
They took everything into their own hands.
They are at the top of the government. Foreign and domestic
policy now depends on them. Incredible is also the
disproportion that exists between their numbers and their
intrusive presence: as teachers, in universities and in the
liberal professions, in journalism, medicine and in the fine
arts.
Of the 16 major Viennese newspapers, 10 are owned by Jews
who edit and manage them.
Under the Jews were all party organs. The Jews also turned
out to be the owners of the main weekly publications.
Despite all these facts, and despite the many voices that
rise up against them, the Jews continue to position
themselves and pass themselves off as staunch defenders of
all sorts of freedoms.
Jewish newspapers talk about the principles of humanism,
about the civilized path, which, they say, will give a
recipe for all suffering and useful advice in all situations
and wine for aging. However, this verbiage can no longer
deceive anyone.
In Austria, everyone has already understood what these
so-called liberal and humanistic doctrines are aimed at,
which led to the cruel enslavement of the population. No one
should now hide the truth and try to soften it. We cannot
close our eyes to the fact that Austria was left to the
mercy of unprincipled feudalism, which in turn handed over
the country to the gluttonous locusts in the form of these
“friends of mankind”, who, having monopolized and pulled all
the resources from an essentially agrarian country, became
extremely rich in the grain market, forcing the population
every day to pay dearly for bread.
From the point of view of financial activity, the role of
the Jews in Austria was one of the most disastrous. Their
nimble operations on the stock exchange periodically took
away what little savings the Austrians managed to
accumulate. The Jews also produced the terrible and
unforgettable collapse of 1873, which brought the Empire to
the brink of social and economic disaster.
When Jews claim that anti-Semitism is a product of religious
hatred taken to the extreme, they are lying and they know it
very well. Spreading their literary poison in all areas of
society, they are working to de-Christianize Austria.
This book was published in 1912, written by James
Boyle (1853-1939), born in England, but emigrated to
the United States when he was 17 years old. He was
the Private Secretary to William McKinley, Governor
of Ohio, who later became 25th U.S. President. Boyle
was later the American consul to the British city of
Liverpool.
