Satan & the Son of the living God

Satan called the founder of Hasidic Judaism "Son of the living God" and followed his orders when summoned

"The Baal Shem Tov (died 1760AD) once summoned the satan, by mystical means, to this world. The Adversary appeared to him in the form of a large black dog that stood up on its hind legs outside his window and growled to him furiously, "You putrid drop, why were you not afraid to call me to this world? I've only rarely been here: when adam ate from the forbidden fruit; at the sin of the Golden Calf; at the destruction of the two Temples..." ... When the Besht (Baal Shem Tov) boldly asked for the key to piety, the Satan was still seething with anger at having been summoned by a mere human. He refused to reveal his secret and was about to return from whence he had come. Seeing this, the Besht sought to pacify the Satan's rage and gazed at him compassionately. The Satan stared back and, seeing the Besht's shining forehead and saintly appearance, was soothed. He gave the Besht the secret he sought, whispering to him how to totally transform his lower nature. Then, instead of leaving, he said gently, "Son of the living God, permit me to stay a while longer, to gaze at the divine light on your face."
