ReplyThis is good stuff though, a Shabbos goy recently started an argument with me in the pub, denying Schiff had anything to do with the RRs. Then, I only had one NYT source:

These articles are indisputable, they're not some theorist's book, but contemporary accounts of meetings he was present at, and what he said.

I've searched and searched and cannot locate any information about a
Replyswashbuckling American foreign correspondent in Romania named Leigh White. He doesn't seem to have left any trail outside of his one book published in l944, The Long Balkan Night, which is full of falsehoods. He claims to have been a Nordic looking gentile working for the JTA in East Europe covering WWII, but I have a hard time believing this because there is zero other info about him archived anywhere.
